Password Security

When creating your LifeReady account and any time you change it, you will be asked to choose a strong password. Password security is extremely important for general account safety and should be applied everywhere, not just on LifeReady.

Creating a Password

LifeReady calculates password strength based on:

  • The difficulty of cracking or guessing your password
  • The estimated time it would take someone to crack your password

Your chosen password is also compared against lists of the most common passwords. If your password appears on any list, you won’t be able to use it for your LifeReady account.

Don’t worry, this check is done locally and the password you type isn’t sent anywhere.

If your chosen password isn’t strong enough, you’ll receive tips on what the problem is and how to improve it.

Choosing a Good Password: While KeyCrypt technology works hard to ensure your data is secure, private and safe, you need a password that works equally as hard. Here are a few tips for creating passwords and keeping them secure: Don’t reuse passwords; Use a combination of letters, numbers and symbols; Never share your password.

Changing Your Password

Changing your password is done through the Security Centre:

This follows a similar process to when you first created your account. You will need to type your current password along with your new desired password. If the new password is strong enough, you will be asked to re-type it. You can then click Change Password.

Your password can be changed as often as you like.

We recommend picking a strong password and sticking with it as long as it stays secure. Changing your password too often may lead to you forgetting it easily or resorting to writing it down somewhere to remember, making your account less secure.
