Security & Privacy

Your data is protected by our unique KeyCrypt security architecture, which provides industry-leading end-to-end and client-level encryption. Your information is encrypted on your device before it ever leaves your computer.

No, absolutely not. Our KeyCrypt technology ensures that only you and people you specifically authorise can access your information. Even LifeReady staff cannot decrypt or view your data.

KeyCrypt is our patented encryption technology that provides the highest level of security and privacy for your data. It uses client-side encryption, meaning your data is encrypted on your device using keys that only you control.

Encryption scrambles your data so only people with the right key can read it—like locking it in a digital safety deposit box that only opens with the correct key. Your encrypted data looks like random characters to anyone else. LifeReady uses military-grade AES-256 encryption, the same unbroken standard used by governments and militaries worldwide, ensuring your data is secure from any unauthorised access.

We continuously monitor the dark web to check if any of your information has been compromised in data breaches. If we find anything, we will alert you so you can take action to secure your accounts.

LifeReady offers multiple secure recovery options to help you regain access while maintaining full security:

  • Personal Recovery Key: You can generate recovery keys—random combinations of words that act as unique keys to your account. You can create as many as needed, and we recommend generating unique keys if sharing with others, giving you absolute control over access.
  • Two-Factor Authentication: LifeReady requires 2FA (either SMS or app authentication) before accessing your vault. This provides a second layer of protection beyond your password.
  • Trusted Party Recovery: People you've designated can help you regain access to your account through our secure recovery process.

If you're completely unable to access your password and 2FA method, account recovery is your only option—which is why it's important to set up these recovery methods in advance.

Using LifeReady

Store anything important to you—documents like wills and Statement of Wishes, passwords, financial account details, medical records, or any digital information you want to keep secure and organised. We provide helpful checklists and guides to help you get started.

Key categories to consider:

  • Legal Documents - Will and Testament, Power of Attorney, Medical Treatment Decision Maker appointments, Advanced Care Plans, insurance policies, property documents
  • Financial Information - Banking details, investment accounts, cryptocurrency, Life Insurance policies, Superannuation, tax records, financial statements
  • Medical Records - Health information, prescriptions, medical contacts, insurance cards, treatment history, healthcare directives
  • Digital Accounts - Passwords, social media accounts, cloud storage, streaming services, online subscriptions, email accounts
  • Personal & Legacy - Family photos, important contacts, emergency information, prepaid funeral arrangements, funeral preferences, messages to loved ones

Trusted Parties are other LifeReady users you choose to share information with. They could be family members, friends, or professional advisors like accountants or lawyers. You control exactly what each person can access.

We recommend starting with at least 2 Trusted Parties for account recovery and emergency access. Most users add family members first, then professional advisors as needed.

You can share specific documents or entire categories of information with your Trusted Parties. When you add someone as a Trusted Party, you share a portion of your encryption keys with each other. As you share information, you send the encrypted version, and your Trusted Party uses their portion of your key to decrypt it on their device. This maintains our client-side encryption model - at no point in this process is your information ever decrypted anywhere other than a personal device.

LifeReady provides secure, organised access that doesn't compromise your security. Instead of sharing actual passwords (which can be changed or stolen), you share encrypted access that can be managed, monitored, and revoked as needed.

Emergency Access & Legacy Planning

Through your Legacy Plan, you can designate trusted parties who will be able to access your digital vault if something happens to you. This ensures your loved ones and executors can access important information needed to manage your wishes and estate. You control exactly what information each trusted party can see, and the system is designed to activate only when needed, giving your loved ones peace of mind while maintaining your privacy and security.

Your Legacy Plan determines what happens to your data. You can give your trusted parties access to your entire vault or specific information and even leave instructions for particular documents.

Yes, you can set up various scenarios—from sharing streaming passwords with family to giving your executor access to all estate documents. Our flexible system lets you control who sees what and when, whether it's for everyday convenience or emergency situations.

LifeReady goes beyond simple document storage to provide comprehensive end-of-life and estate planning support. LifeReady helps you organise all the critical information your loved ones will need, from legal documents to personal preferences, ensuring nothing is overlooked during difficult times.

LifeReady has a Statement of Wishes feature that creates a flexible, non-legally binding document to assist your loved ones and executor in managing your wishes and estate. It covers personal guidance that doesn't belong in your formal Will—like location of original documents, wishes regarding children, minimum age for trust distributions, debts owed, or charitable intentions. You can also add specific instructions for individual records in your vault, which will be included with your Statement of Wishes. Once created, it's delivered to your chosen Trusted Parties along with the rest of your Legacy.

Business & Professional Use

Absolutely. Many business owners use LifeReady to share important accounts and documents with key staff when traveling, provide accountants with financial records, or ensure business continuity in unexpected situations. You maintain complete control over what business information is shared and with whom.

Professional advisors like accountants, lawyers, or financial planners can be added as Trusted Parties. You can instantly share relevant documents with them—like tax records with your accountant or financial documents with your advisor—without compromising security or losing control.
